How these pairs were chosen

Only pairs that shoppers actually weigh against each other get a page: direct rivals in the same class, electric and hybrid models against gasoline ones, and siblings from the same maker. We do not generate every possible combination.

Each page compares the lowest fuel cost configuration of each model, the best configuration of every powertrain, and every model year the two share. For any other pair, use the compare cars tool.

About these comparisons

How are the costs calculated?

Annual fuel cost assumes 15,000 miles a year at the EPA combined rating, with the same dated EIA fuel and electricity prices for both vehicles. Costs are rounded to $10 and every difference is computed from the rounded values. See the methodology.

Which model year is compared?

The latest model year the EPA has fully published, currently 2026. The year-by-year table on each page covers every year the two models share.

Why is a pair missing?

Pages exist only for hand-picked pairs. Compare any two cars with the compare cars tool.
